This is a lightweight protective armor I designed for my Clockwork Pi uConsole. The enclosure is an exercise in adding additional durability and expansion while trying to maintain the device’s compact and portable nature.
The design includes several functional elements:
- Antenna Enclosure: A dedicated space to house two external antennas, and enough space to house two gps antennas keeping them secure and integrated with the overall form.(M4*8 screws)
- Power button extension: allows the power button to be accessible through the antenna enclosure.
- Ergonomic Stand: A built-in stand that offers a more comfortable finger positioning. It also offers weather protection for the side ports when closed.
- Screen Protecting Lid: A hinged cover featuring the Clockwork Pi logo, designed to shield the screen from scratches and impacts when not in use. (M4*8 screws)
- Corner Shock Protection: Reinforced corners that provide added resistance to accidental drops or bumps.
- Camera straps adapter: Allows attaching a camera strap for carry. (M4*8 screws)
I drew inspiration from other designs for the lid and the bottom bumper but I modeled these from the ground up to fit my own needs and design taste.
Designed for easy 3D printing and assembly, although supports are definitely needed for some of the parts.
You will need X6 M4*8 screws.
My print settings:
- PETG CF
- .20mm layer height
- 4 walls
- 15% infill
- Supports ON
