I love using recycled materials. This thermos re-uses a common glass jar as the vessel and utilizes Amazon packaging as the insulation!

The jar I chose was originally full of Alfredo sauce but they are also used for tomato sauce, olives, and lots of other stuff. They hold exactly a pint and the lid is usually of high quality. You probably have one in your bin right now!

In addition to keeping it ups contents warm, this 3D print protects the jar itself  from impact/shattering if and when it gets dropped.

Print the housing in vase mode, 0.77mm line width.

The integrated handle/top/bottom can be printed using default settings, with standard support

Note: you will need a 300+mm print bed to fit the handle part.

The handle will need to be thermo-formed. Gently heat it with a torch, heat gun or boiling water and then bend it to the desired shape.

To assemble, wrap the jar in bubble wrap, then use cyanoacrylate, hot glue and/or silicone adhesive to assemble.

Notes to self:

-need to beef up the handle

-create a second version which doesn't require a 300mm print bed
