The idea is I had a really nice touch screen I grabbed on amazon as a portable laptop display. I dont travel a ton, and my main use case is for electronics repair, looking at manuals/datasheets etc. So I wanted it off my desk top.
Being cheap and not wanting to commit to buying another vesa arm, I decided I had a spare mic arm, this screen is very light being a portable, so I mocked this up to see how I like having it mounted vs hand held.
It does have tilt issues as you move it, as vesa usually gives another axis of rotation, but its a proof of concept for me.
I dont think its that sturdy, but it does work, and I actually really like how easy the mic arm moves vs most vesa arms so it may stay.
if you break your screen though, your on your own.

Used 2x m4 screws and 3 washers each as spacers, as the holes on the screen are extremely shallow, and i didnt want to bottom out and break the display, this is very important.
From there I just spun it on the 3/8" stud from the mic arm until it was far enough in I felt comfortable :)
