Essentially this is the same thing as the original model, I solely made the legs longer since I wanted to use normal cables instead of right angle cables. It's probably not the best for the cables, even with the added length, but it's not a hard angle so its fiiiiiine, right?

The final height (including the baseplate) measures out to be 64.2mm in blender. With calipers I measured out around 63.3mm. This gives cables more room to exist under the Pi without needing right angle connectors for things like power or the other USB ports.

I also made another mount to support the full sized Pis since I didn't want to source 2.5mm screws \_(ツ)_/. It slides over the top to hold it in place.

Also, maybe it's just my tolerances, but the original support mounts were crazy tight, which is good for supporting the Pi but impossible feeling to remove, so this one is way looser by comparison. It can probably be adjusted to be a bit tighter, but this was good enough for me for keeping the Pi in place.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

  • Legs are longer (original height: 27.5mm; this model: 64.2mm
    (at least according to blender)
  • Includes clip to help hold full size Pi models in place without 2.5mm screws
