The back story

This is a lightweight direct drive toolhead for Creality Ender-3 Neo, Ender-3 V2 Neo, and Ender-3 Max Neo.

I designed this toolhead because, surprisingly, I couldn’t find a single option in the 3D printing community that ticked all these boxes:

  1. Uses the Ender-3 Neo stock hotend
  2. Incorporates dual 5015 fans
  3. Features an Orbiter toolhead
  4. Runs a CR-Touch for probing the bed

The result? The Neo Stiffy Toolhead — a unique combination tailored for performance and compatibility with existing setups ( Ender-3 Neo, Ender-3 V2 Neo, and Ender-3 Max Neo )!

For Installation of the Neo Stiffy

The setup includes a toolhead AND a customized position endstop.

You can use these extruders:

  • Orbiter v2.0/v2.5
  • Sherpa Mini/Micro, or any extruder with compatible mount holes (Such as the FZ Extruder)

You'll need some hardware to build the toolhead. Other than the printed parts, you'll also need those for the toolhead:

  • The hardware on the stock Ender-3 Neo toolhead
  • 2 M3 Nuts (for mounting the CR-Touch)
  • 8 M3 heat inserts with outer diameter of at least 4mm and depth of 5mm
  • 2 M3 20mm screws (for mounting the 5015 fans)
  • 4 M3 15mm screws (for the 4010 fan)
  • 2 M3 10mm screws (for the extruder)
  • Prepare at leaset 4 M3 washers (for the CR-Touch)

Next, the for toolhead X - endstop:

  • 2 M3 10mm screws
  • 2 M3 35mm screws
  • 2 M3 15mm screws
  • 2 M3 Nuts OR 2 M3 heat inserts with a radius of at least 3mm

Remember to keep your old screws. They can be useful!

The Klipper config file (printer.cfg) for an Ender-3 Neo with the Neo Stiffy is here: https://github.com/ProtonKicker/Klipperized-Ender-3-Neo/blob/main/Config%20For%20Upgraded%20Ender-3%20Neo/printer.cfg

See the configurations for the Orbiter V2.0 series extruders: https://www.orbiterprojects.com/orbiter-v2-0/. It is already included in the Klipper config file above.

You might wonder why I didn’t opt for a more advanced hotend. The truth is, the stock Ender-3 Neo hotend delivers impressive performance. It handles a flow rate of 25 mm³/s effortlessly, making it more than capable for my needs. Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

For the toolhead:

  • Made it compatible with Orbiter v2/v2.5 extruder
  • Made it compatible with Sherpa Micro
  • Made it compatible with stock Ender-3 Neo hotend
  • Made it compatible with CR-Touch probe
  • Increased tolerance for the ducts for a bit
  • Adjusted the plate for Ender-3 Neo carriage plate
  • Changed the way the 4010 heatsink cooling fan is mounted
  • Cut extra holes to install standard 5015 fans

Next, there's a special X - Endstop mount added
