1. Complete rewrite of the entire OpenSCAD file - rendering takes 5% of the time of the original. Render the entire cap collection in the time it used to take to render one!
2. New designs - three new cap styles join the collection!
   • Alternate hex - the classic 3d printing pattern, now as a customizable hex layout. Great for when you want a lot of coffee produced fast!
   • Waves - soothing wave style holes to calm your nerves before assaulting them with caffeine… speaking of which…
   • Lifesign - the “lub dub” of an ECG, representing the heart-pounding impact of the drink you are about to enjoy!
3. Refined original designs - all original designs have been revisited to remove oddities (like the not-quite-overlapping holes in the center of the classic cap).
4. Cleaner read - the new file is better structured, with the modules grouped by cap option, for easier reading by people who are not me.

I do NOT have the XL cap in here for the simple reason I do not own one and struggled to find dimensions listed. If you are willing to measure one you own, message me, please. I'd love to include it.

NOTE: I have removed the Melodrip options. I struggled to balance the new config with the Melodrip settings I had used. If you want a Melodrip cap, please go to my original model.

Whether you're looking to replace a lost cap, swap out a damaged cap, or simply want to experiment with different brewing dynamics, our versatile design options have got you covered. This cap has been modeled on the classic Aeropress cap and iterated until the fit is just right.

Key Features:

1. Multiple Hole Layouts: Choose from the classic hole layout, the new hole layout, or delve into our unique designs, including hexagonal versions of both classic and new, linear patterns, and a grid layout.
2. Customizable Design: With the provided OpenSCAD file, you can tweak and modify the cap design to your heart's content, ensuring a perfect fit and personalized brewing experience.
3. Eco-Friendly: By 3D printing your Aeropress cap, you're opting for a sustainable solution, reducing waste and promoting a circular economy.

Printing Recommendations:

• Material: We recommend using food-safe PETG for health and durability considerations. If using any other material, consider sealants, like food-safe resins. Note that any sealant may add to the dimensions of the cap and hinder the fit.
• Layer Height: 0.16mm to 0.2mm for a smooth finish and optimal detail.
• Perimeters: Use 1 perimeter and the “Extra perimeters if needed” option in PrusaSlicer. Setting a higher minimum for perimeters causes issues with the finish (see image). These settings still result in a sturdy cap.
• Infill: 15% or more to ensure the cap's strength and longevity.
• Supports: Depending on your printer's capabilities, painted supports may be necessary for the locking tabs. Painting the supports to minimize the length of any bridge was the best method to balance quality of overhangs while minimizing support contact.
• Orientation: Optimal results achieved by printing with holes touching the print bed. This requires supporting the locking tabs, in many cases.
