The 3D-printed pill dispenser in the shape of a revolver is an innovative and practical solution for daily medication management. With its unique revolver-inspired design, this dispenser provides an easy, secure, and organized way to store and dispense pills for each day of the week.
Made from durable, lightweight 3D-printed plastic, the dispenser features seven chambers, each representing a day from Monday to Friday, with an additional chamber for the weekend. Simply rotate the revolver to the correct day, making it easy to access the right dose.
The revolver mechanism guarantees that only one dose is dispensed at a time, promoting accurate medication intake. For added convenience, an optional magnetic label is available, which can be customized to mark the dispenser for example with different times of the day—morning, afternoon, or evening. This ensures you stay organized and on track with your medication schedule.
Additionally, to make refilling the dispenser easier, two different funnel designs are available for download. These funnels simplify the process of filling each chamber, ensuring a clean and hassle-free experience.
Available in various colors and styles, the revolver-shaped pill dispenser combines style, functionality, and convenience, making daily medication management an effortless and enjoyable part of your routine.
When filling the dispenser, make sure that the first day on which you want to use it is facing forward, as the pills will fall directly through the revolver into the collection container underneath when you insert them in this position.
Some medications, such as bacterial cultures, must only be removed from their packaging immediately before consumption or must be stored in a cool place and are therefore not suitable for this gadget or similar containers. If you are unsure, please inform yourself in advance and read the packaging leaflet or ask your doctor or pharmacist :)

Tolerance Calibration:
Since the magnets are inserted with a pressfit I highly recommend to print the tolerance test in advance and check if the magnets fit into the printed parts nicely.
If your magnets don't fit into the test print you can scale all printed parts a tiny amount or with some slicers you can change the x-y hole tolerances.

Depending on the material and/ or printer this can be necessary to repeat several times until you are happy with the outcome :)
I testprinted the parts successfully on a Prusa XL and Bambulab X1C without the necessity to scale them. But that is no guarantee for you!
Necessary Hardware:
Neodym magnets 4 mm Diameter 4 mm length x 10 (optionnally +1 for the top sign & +2 for the container rear).
Neodym magnets 4 mm Diameter 2 mm length x 7.
Neodym magnets 6 mm Diameter 10 mm length x 4.
//Tipp: You can also stack shorter magnets with the same diameter. So 2x 2 mm magnets can replace a 4 mm long magnet with 4 mm diameter.
Optionally: 2 Woden Screws 3,5 -4 mm in Diameter if you want to mount it to a nonmagnetic wall. You don't need the 6 mm magnets then.
Assembly:
Make sure that the magnets attract each other properly! I recommend to start with inserting the 4 mm magnets into the base part, all of them having the same oriantation.
Then you can add the following magnets to them and they will automatically orientate themselves in the right position.
Make sure to push the magnets in until they are leveled with the surface. Dont push them further.
The fitting should be fine if you did the tolerance test in advance. But If the holes are still too tight don't hesitate and use some force to push the magnets in. (But make sure they are orientated correctly!) If they are too loose you can use a tiny drop of glue to secure them in place.
Printing Instructions:
I used PLA 0,2 mm layer height, 25% Infill, Arachne perimeter generator and 1 perimeter at top/ bottom layer for all parts.
Multi material: The revolver and the signs on top can be printed dual color. I uploaded them so you can simply choose the different segments as single objects in the listing of your slicer.
VaseMode: You can print the single funnel in VaseMode.
If your Revolver is not spinning completely free (Without the magnets inserted) you can add some candles wax (paraffin to lube the system).
Customization:
Of course you can change the colors of all parts as you like but I also created the top sign to be customized by you.
I added some precreated files with morning, afternoon and evening. But it is also able to customize the pill revolver for different persons!

You can do that simply with your slicer!

Recycling:
To reduce the waste after the lifteime of this dispenser I added holes/ tunnel to many of the magnets through wich you can push the magnets out with a stick or some piece of filament. For magnets without this feature, you can heat the plastic around the magnet and then pull it out with a stronger magnet.
