This easy puzzle box can be opened by twisting the container into a heart and then splitting it into two separate hearts.
The box frame contains extra magnet holes to support alternate configurations. Do not add magnets to every hole.
The box can be assembled to unlock either in the heart configuration or in the rectangular configuration.
If you want the box to start out as a locked heart and separate in the rectangular configuration, print "Alternate_Key.stl"
Rather than printing one right lid and one left lid, you may choose instead to print two lids from the same side, which will alter whether the boxes open from the front and back. If you do this, make sure you also print the correct bottom parts to match.
All parts of this design can be printed with zero supports.
However, the key hole in "Frame Right.stl" must print very cleanly. To reduce the amount of bridging involved, an alternate "Frame Right with Custom Supports.stl" file is available. This adds a small printed plug in the key hole that can be removed relatively easily after printing.
If your printer experienced curling, add a brim to all parts that have sharp corners.
Three M3 bolts that are 8-12mm long. For best results, use 10mm long bolts.
Eight 3x3mm cylinder magnets to align the lid.
Four 6x3mm cylinder magnets to pull the frames together.
Additional holes in the side of the frame are available to support 3x3mm cylinder magnets.
