Replaces front panel of stock camera mount to add ventilation and adds easy to grip hood to lens for focus adjustment. Existing camera will need glue removed from its lens barrel to permit focusing.
Installation is under ten minute process.
1. Pop off existing front camera mounting panel from its clips. It is easiest to pop the top clip first and the lower/side ones will come free.
2. Clip zip tie that secures camera cable to mount. There is no need to unplug usb from camera PC board.
3. Remove two screws holding camera module to front panel.
4. Remove glue on lens barrel that prevents rotation/focusing of lens. I found the glue is easies to flake off with careful nipping with tips of flush cutters. Verify that lens rotates freely once glue is broken off.
5. Mount camera module onto new front panel with original two screws.
6. Snap front panel and module back into place. Optionally, you can also a zip tie and tie the USB cable to the new front panel.
7. Slip lens hood onto camera lens. It will seat nearly flush with front of mounting panel. Don't use excessive force. If too tight, lightly sand away a bit of plastic from inside of lens hood.
Installation completed, you can set focus of the camera as desired. Stock camera will NEVER be anywhere as clear as a Creality Nebula camera, but better focus helps.
