Recently I realised, that my girlfriend had some Floppy Disk left over. Hence there is no real usecase for those historic storage media anymore, I decided to be a little bit creative and thought about, how to recycle those Floppy Disks, which where a relic of my childhood and youth. What came out was this desktop pencil / pen / writing equipment holder or organiser.
As I finished my work I realised, that others had the same Idea. But none of them used a triangle as the base. So I decided to publish my things here on Thingiverse.
For the top I first build a complete surrounding cover (already included in the download list). But then I realised that that would cover to much of the Floppy Disk, what would destroy their unique look.
That's why I build tiny edge connectors. I used liquid adhesive to stick the connectors and disks together. I also use liquid glue to fix the disks on the ground plate.

I used FreeCAD to design this thing.
I also used Blender to have a better look on the models hence FreeCAD has no good 3D preview mode where I can freely move and rotate the objects in the 3D space.
