Fantastic design! The trick with the alignment fixture to print the top rack is incredible. All tolerances worked straight off the CORE One printer. I modified the central pivot to remove the bearing and the switch functions well without it. Thank you for making these files available!
What Filament color is best to match the original gray tracks?
@JR_265282 I use Landu/Kingroon/Deeplee PLA (they are all exactly the same), Anycubic PLA is also fine, because those are close and cheap, I've tried some other filaments, but they are a lot more expensive and print badly
@cbrick Thanks but each of those brands have several "greys" Are you choosing light grey, slate grey, space grey, just grey? Sorry, as they all seem like slightly different shades. Trying to mach as close to original as possible, recommend?
I printed the left-point switch three times now and so far it's just frustrating to me. The first two times I used PETG (two times because I accidentally printed the plate I put the top and bottom part on twice) and it didn't quite work because the sliding rack can turn a little in its guideways so the tips of the points won't align with the fixed rails. Also, the top rack's surface bends a little upwards so that C-shaped spring-thing couldn't slide across the topmost (longest) bar of the sliding rack (since it wasn't flush with the surface anympore) and got wedged.
So I tried it again with PLA on a smooth PEI plate. Now that spring-thing is way too weak and the mechanism is very sticky. It works better with some teflon grease applied, but the switch point still misaligns due to the weak spring, especially with the "automated" part of the switch when the train pushed against the sliders. :( Since I need to use grease anyway, I might make the sliding rack's bars a little wider to reduce tolerance and that spring a little thicker.
I can't wait to get it fully working. Apart from my issues, great design.

The method used for getting the top rack on top of the top is very interesting - it worked well. Mechanism sticks a little but hope it gets better with use.
I did not think a monorail switch was possible to print. Than you.

@BobHayes Awesome, sticking normally gets smaller with use but to reduce friction you can also check that the part of the sliding rack that touches the top surface has no bumps or blobs, also different bed surfaces leave different top surfaces, that can affect friction. If things get bad you can always add some silicone lubricant or something like that (I didn't need to do that).
