For managing cables, for example under a desk. Uses clamps that are held in place with a latch-mechanism and can thus easily be removed and put back in.

Screwless variant (If making holes it not an option)

Can be attached using double-sided adhesive, though specifically designed for nano tape which is usually fairly thick, like 2 mm. Thinner double-sided adhesive may work. However, if it is too thin then it isn't possible to push on the latch to release the clamp.

  • Print any of the Rack_X_Adhesive.stl files, the number indicate how many cables it will hold.
  • Print the necessary amount of Clamp_Xmm.stl.
  • Please see last image before applying nano tape or similar.

Screw variant (Recommended, if makings holes is acceptable)

Attached using one or two screws.
Head diameter up to 7mm, thread diameter up to 4mm.

  • Print any of the Rack_X_Screw.stl files, the number indicate how many cables it will hold.
  • Print the matching RackBase_X_Screw.stl, this goes between the rack and surface it is mounted to. The purpose of this part is to create space between the rack and surface so the latch can be pushed down to remove the clamp.
  • Print the necessary amount of Clamp_Xmm.stl.
  • It's easier to attach these to a surface if you glue the Rack and RackBase together with a drop or two of super glue.

Clamps

The clamps are available for different cable thickness, from 4 through 8mm.
You could just print the 8mm ones as they work for any cable up to 8mm and all the way down to a really thin one. So using the smaller ones are optional but they may prevent thinner cables from sliding too much if that is a concern.

Print settings

Print parts oriented as shown on the slicer image.
I used these settings

  • 0.60mm nozzle, but 0.40mm should work fine too
  • PLA but anything except TPU and similar should work
  • 4 perimeters, 0% infill
  • 0.20mm layer height

I recommended using 0.20mm layer height for all parts, except the clamps that can be printed using thicker layers.

Problems, questions or feedback?

Please don't hesitate to reach out and we'll get it sorted. Thanks!

If you need one that can hold a specific number of cables or a specific thickness, or something else, let me know and I will likely add it to the collection.
