The snaps for zip ties works great!

Just a small selection of the Underware I've printed so far. My desk has a lot of cables to tame!

I've only started but this system is so much better than the complicated system that used Multiboard. I'm attaching two pictures, one is before, the other is after. I hope to route more under the desk so I can get rid of a bunch of the cables on top of the desk!

Great system not yet done with this one but I am already considering using it bascically everywhere.

Spent a few hours upgrading the cable management under my desk, there is still room for improvement, but that's already much better.
I have designed the holder for my Logi Dock power supply, you have find it in my profile

My journey just started 😊

I'm sorry if I missed this, but what are the printing recommendations for these? Like orientation, walls...etc? I would assume it's full walls (no infill) but print orientation concerns me. Obviously, printing it horizontally would be easiest but that would make me think the tabs would be fragile.

@enahs The tabs normally are no issue when printed as oriented in the files. If you run into issues you may print the models standing upwards, this normally also works.

For the printing recommendations see www.opengrid.world:
Material: PLA (or PETG)
Nozzle diameter: 0.4mm
Layer height: 0.2mm
Infill: Use default pattern and at least 15%
Perimeters / outer wall count: >= 3

I would love to use these but every print I've tried, the tabs break off. I've been using PLA. Any suggestions to make the tabs stronger would be greatly appreciated.

@KevinGrimm_3505210 Never had such issues. Do you squeeze the channel a little bit while inserting it into the board?
Normally I would expect this to be a filament issue. Might not be dry, might just be a bad batch. Have you tried different filament yet?

@DavidD I've tried a few, but to be fair I was using a matte filament that I've had terrible luck with, I tried normal PLA and the hooks broke off with very little pressure. I keep my filament in a dry box around 15% humidity. I'm going to try a PETG version sometime today.

I'm very new to 3D printing, and thought that Underware to tidy up my desk whilst remaining mostly out of sight was a good test. I chose the OpenGrid version as it seemed to be a lot simpler and a lot more efficient that the Mk1 version. Overall I'm impressed even whilst I'm still waiting for my second build plate of channels to print, however the channels could clip in a little more securely - the remix with the extra "flare" are on my second run!

You may also use the grip snap below the channels to help those being more securely attached. The flare version is also a good choice :)
