Mic Repair Clip

This clip helps prolong the life of the RODE M5 microphone by addressing one of the more common kinds of damage that can occur.  The microphones provide good audio quality with a minimal form factor, but the small form factor means that the recess for retaining a male XLR cable can be more easily damaged during normal wear and tear.  This clip grips the outside of the microphone and slots into where the retaining surface normally would be.  Once it is installed the XLR cable can be pushed in as normal and should clip in without issue.

THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE FIX - The clip helps retain the cable but can still be pulled out.  If this happens while the mic is live that can lead to some loud noise!  I have used this clip in places where the mic will be well away from moving people (audience mics).  For a complete repair I have had good experience with RODE's repair services.

Print instructions:

The pilot print for this part used PETG for its increased flex.  Other filaments may work fine.
