Over the years we have bought IKEA lampshades and, apart from one instance, we have always forgotten to buy the adapter plates for UK light fittings! I have created adapters in the past (https://www.printables.com/model/494230-ikea-lampshade-adapter-for-use-with-pendant-light-) but I have come to realise that I was over-complicating things. Also, my first SCAD creation was designed to handle the lampshades with just 2 bars, but then we bought a couple of shades with 3 bars...

So I rewrote the SCAD file to reduce the complexity - this one is VERY simple - and thus increase the chance of a successful end product.

Note that this adapter will work with both lamp standards/bases and pendant fittings; in other words, it will work either way up.

Notes:

The washer with the step goes on the side of the lampshade's central ring WITHOUT the recess, and the plain washer goes IN the recess on the other side. Note that you may end up with only a small amount of threads on the bulb holder to screw on the retaining ring - I had 'just enough'.

I would suggest that you use a material that isn't too heat-sensitive - I used PETG, but this was with an LED lightbulb that was above the washers. If you're planning to use these with a tungsten bulb hanging below the washers then I strongly recommend that you use a more heat-tolerant material such as ABS.

The centre hole is deliberately quite snug - if your printer tends to leave an "elephant's foot" on the first layer then I recommend that you pare that off before trying to use the adapter.

Please note that this adapter is strong enough to do its job - but it wouldn't take a great deal of force to break it (not normally a problem with lampshades!).
