(Designed Using Minimal Bullshit, Now With Extra Grip & Drip)
The original DUMB Wallet was already stupid simple. This one? Still stupid, but sexier. The kind of thing you'd leave on your desk just to make your coworkers jealous (just keep an eye on them, they are untrustworthy).
Functionally, it's the same as before. No moving parts, no over-engineering, no unnecessary crap. Your cards slide in, they stay put, and when you need them, they slide out smoothly. You can still slide out the top card to flex how cool you are. You are super cool.
Tolerances are still dialed TF in.
Other Versions:
Original Edition: Smooth surfaces all around, primed for some debossed text of your mom's phone number.
DUMBASS Wallet: This version has it all. Money clip, pocket clip, keychain accessory, lanyard accessory, ID badges, AirTag support.
Support (my dumb ideas):
If you want to buy me a beer or just reach out, you can find me here. Whether it’s feedback or just a nod of appreciation, I’m always happy to hear from people. But let’s be real - the most effective form of communication is cold, hard cash (or beer).
STL Files:
10 sizes: There are STLs for 3-cards through to 12-cards. You do not need to print one that is exactly the number of cards you have. It can be loose, and the cards are still retained.
Exact Dimension: Internal depth = Number of cards × 1.1 mm (e.g., 6-Cards = 6.6 mm). If you measure your card stack, you may find that a lower card-count model fits fine. The design is intentionally conservative to work for everyone.
Printing Tips:
Brim: The extra shakes from the hex pattern can break the print loose, so a brim is advisable.
Speed/Accel: Slow down the speed if you want the hex pattern to really pop.
Don’t Use Vase Mode: Several have asked about vase mode. Just don’t. This thing is like 16g of filament and was designed to be solid. Having any voids will affect the springiness of the design.
Changelog:
V1.2 – Initial release. To version match with the original DUMB Wallet since they have the same internal design.
