These Rimmy OW rim guards were designed over the course of several months in the beginning of 2022 to address a problem Float NLC riders were having: Busting hubs from 3+ foot drops on Onewheel boards. This product was tested internally and sold locally gaining notoriety for their durability.

When compared to other rim guards on the market, these provide more space for the bead to seat fully in the hub, providing less compromise in bead hold with the installation of a rim guard on your hub. Since these were designed for FDM manufacturing, no supports are needed. If your printer is correctly calibrated, there is no post-print cleanup.

Durability comes down to print settings. These are printed out of 95a shore hardness TPU (Overture 95A high speed is harder than 95a and is very durable in this application), but you can play with different materials or shore ratings to see what works for you. I recommend use of a 0.6mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height (or use adaptive layer heights) and picking infill and print settings that result in a concentric head path. I prefer using 4 perimeters and concentric infill. Playing with lower % infill will allow for some ‘impact area’ to cushion any hit if you use harder materials.

Installation:
I've always installed these by hand. Sometimes it helps to heat them up a bit. The flat side should face out when installed.
