This is a design for a 1.2mm thin plate intended to be glued onto the cover of a notebook.  I wanted a simple design for the corners and a Celtic knot was easy enough to model (though a lesson in designing things like this in Fusion 360).  In any case, it came out about as good as I could expect.

The corner designs are all done as negative relief (the art sits below the surface instead of being raised up).  I think I could do a raised version if you want one… send a message on this model if you want one.

Printing notes:

  • Nozzle: designed originally for my standard .4mm nozzle.
  • Layer Height: I used .2mm layer heights
  • Wall Count: I printed with wall count of 1.
  • Line Directions: check the line directions to make sure the print lines are going in the desired direction (a lower layer will be visible)

Post-Processing:

  • I went over the model LIGHTLY with some 150 grit sandpaper WITH THE GRAIN to remove little peaks caused by z-hops/ seams on the top layer.
  • I still need to glue it to the notebook, but that should be easy enough.
