My wife has crochet as a hobby. She constantly searches the internet and books for nice patterns, stitches and ideas.
Today she was trying a so called ‘Bullion stitch’. Don't ask me, I'm not familiar with crochet.

The stitch seems to be somewhat difficult to make. The website shows a video with instructions. The lady in the video tells it's rather challenging to do this stitch. It requires holding 2 needles parallel.
One could tape the 2 needles together (see another video below).
My wife also thought about this trick but she uses more ergonomic needles with a thicker grip. These make holding a needle much more comfortable. Unfortunately these ergonomic needles are rather expensive so she wouldn't just try things which might damage/destroy these needles.
So she asked me if I could create something that suits her needs.
After some drawing I came up with this contraption for an ordinary crochet needle size 3. Getting the crochet needle into the grip is somewhat a challenge. I used liquid soap inside the handle. Then with the battery machine drill, which holds the crochet needle for about 4cm from the hook. Then I ‘drilled’ the crochet needle into the grip. It took a few adjustments to get the crochet needle where it was supposed to go. After that only the thick needle needed to go into destined hole and ready.
Fortunately the new combined needles and grip immediately work great.
Below the steps my wife follows with her needle:
This video is not the one I mentioned above but does show what using 2 needles looks like. This lady used tape to attach the 2 needles. (I don't know this lady, I just took a random video. Hope she doesn't mind possibly getting more views)
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
