This was an idea I had for a hanger that would allow you to pull your shirt off of it. The arms rotate on a stationary core. Hair ties return the arms to their resting position.

I wouldn't think of this as a final, usable model, rather as a starting point for future refinement. It does work, but the issues I have with it is that I haven't nailed down the elastic tension. I want it to be high enough that the shirt is supported but low enough that the return to the resting position is less chaotic. I think some sort of adjustable tensioner would be useful, especially to account for deformation of the hair ties over time.

Add manual support under the unsupported circular bolt hole and the unsupported hexagonal nut hole. No other supports are necessary.

Requires one M4x20 machine screw and matching washer and nut.

The specific hair ties I used were “Goody Ouchless Medium Hair”. They are approximately 3.75mm in diameter and the inner length of them straightened but not stretched is around 63mm.
