While I love the idea of having the spool holder on the back for travel, at home space is quite tight. I wanted to make use the space below the printer to hold the spool, so everything can be pushed closer to the wall. This should be able to accommodate most 200mm diameter 1kg spools of filament.
There are 2 versions of the slide. I have only printed and tested the one with the 2 bearings however it should still work with the one with no bearings as there is enough room for the spool to still spin. I wanted to include both so it was not required to print. I would recommend getting the ball plungers as they hold the slide in place, however feel free to test if you can get away with out them. I wanted to make sure the spool locked in place when printing but it might not be necessary. I also went overboard on the heatstakes and screws to hold the top plate, all 9 are definitely not needed.
This was very quickly modeled so there might be some flaws. I have included step files if anyone wants to make any modifications! Feel free to reach out with any suggestions/ recommendations you would like to see made.
