Updates:
- 26-Feb-2025: V4 model
- Increased the size of the duct adapter significantly
- increased magnets holes from 4 to 9
- added a 4in duct adapter
- requires about 7 in of clearance behind the printer (with duct attached)
- Requires about 200g of filament and about 7 hours of print time
Additional Materials
- 8mm diameter magnets (up to 10mm in height)
- 4pcs M3 machine screws
- 3-4in worm clamp
- 3in or 4in duct (length based on your needs)
- additional hardware based on your needs
Print Settings
- Print in PETG using any QUALITY or STRUCTURAL profiles
- Set internal perimeters to .8mm to increase strength and reduce print time
Assembly
- Once printed, press 8mm magnets into the exposed holes
- Attach M3 screws to the printer, these will locate the adapter to the exhaust port
- Attach the duct to the adapter using a worm clamp
- Attach to the printer using the M3 screws to locate onto the adapter
Misc.
- Used my exhaust port reference CAD as a starting point
- While it holds fine, I feel the magnetic strength is weaker than I expected even with 4 8mmx8mm magnets.
- STEP file included for remixing
- Thanks to rcprsa for pictures of the 4in v4 model
