This design assumes you are using XR varial rails. I'm using this part to attach the ‘wings’ to the varial quarter panels. Without this anchoring, the material doesn't effectively wrap/clearance around the battery box cable gland.
It's always frustrated me how the front (wheel facing) part of the XR battery box eats the brunt of the trail spray. This coupled with off-season riding makes for a wet, muddy cleanup. This is intended to aid in waterproofing by preventing spray onto battery box seals, and aid in board cleaning by preventing build-up in the rear part of the board. I don't think I'll need to chisel dirt and gravel away next time I open the battery box up.
The goal of the design is to help prevent water/debris intrusion into the space in/around the rails/battery box/bumper in the rear of the board. The front controller box (stock wheel) is protected by spray by the plug cover.
I'm using this with flightfins, which help hold down the ‘top’ apron (print upside down).
Printed using a high-hardness TPU (≥98A shore hardness)
Alternative licensing is available. My goal is open and easy access to DIY/VESC onewheel parts.
