Due to the sad possibility of active threats in our schools, all doors must remain locked. Most single doors have a slim magnet that can be pulled to allow the door to lock. My classroom has double push bar doors and the slim magnet won't work. So I designed a quick pull magnet that attaches to the center bar. This allows me to keep the doors locked and still be able to have students go in and out as needed. In the case of an active shooter, I can pull the magnet quickly to lock the door.
I used a bar magnet that is glued in place with E6000 glue
