E3D Hemera Filament Runout/Presence Sensor

A simple filament runout/presence sensor for the E3D Hemera, inspired by the clever solution found in the BoxTurtle by Armored Turtle (https://armoredturtle.xyz/). So far it has been as reliable as it is simple. It also pairs nicely with the BoxTurtle! Available in two orientations to support different mounting requirements.

Installation

Assembly requires removal of the heatsink to install the modular base. It is STRONGLY recommended that all PTFE tubing have the ends chamfered.

Required Parts

• E3D Hemera, direct-drive
• MR63ZZ Bearing
• PC4-M10 Pneumatic Connector
• D2GW-A03D Omron switch
• 17.25mm of PTFE tubing between the Hemera and sensor, chamfered (Capricorn XS Tubing recommended)
• M2 configuration requires M2 threaded heat-set inserts
