Move your filament sensor to directly above your extruder. This remixed model is designed to let you use the original hardware from your SV06 Plus.

printed with PLA at 0.15mm resolution

Steps:

  1. Remove the runout sensor from the spool holder on the gantry
  2. Remove the two M3 hex head screws that go horizontally through the sensor
  3. Discard the thin metal bracket, which contains the threads that originally held these two screws in-place
  4. Insert those two screws from the right side of the bracket, where the countersunk holes are. They should bite into the printed plastic on the opposite side
  5. One at a time, remove the corresponding screws from the extruder, feed them through the countersunk holes in the bracket, and re-attach.
  6. You will have to pull the wiring connector from inside the left vertical beam on the gantry. There is a removable black strip that covers the channel, just pull that out, remove the cable, and put it back.

You may have to shave away some plastic on the inside of the extruder screw holes. It is a tight tolerance to connect the screw back into the extruder head. The original model recommends an M3x6 screw, which does work with this remix as well.

Model origin

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Added counterbores to allow using the original hardware to attach the filament sensor.

The filament sensor for the sv06 plus uses two M3x25 hex head screws to attach the sensor to a metal bracket, which then has a  screw that can be attached to the spool holder. When you remove the screws, the metal plate can be discarded.

This remixed model includes slots to let the hex heads sink into the plastic, which lets the M3x25 screws reach all the way to the other side. The left side support has slightly undersized holes and is countersunk to allow the screw to bite into the plastic without need for a nut.

The screws that attach the bracket to the extruder are M3x5. The plastic on the bracket is countersunk to allow the head to reach far enough. This is a close fit, you might need to carve out a little plastic to make it work. The original model recommends an M3x6 screw, which does work with this remix as well.
