Sys-Wedge

Created by Systainer USA and Tanos, this basic tool assist in removing the handle on a Systainer³ generation systainer.  This could be a Tanos, Festool or other branded systainer.

Systainers are a way to store, transport, organize and protect your tools, materials, demo kits, engineering gear, medical devices, and so much more.  The systainer was developed over 30 years ago by Tanos in Germany.  Systainer³, the latest generation, comes in a wide variety of colors, fitouts and types for different needs.  Many quality tool and other product manufacturers including Festool, Mirka, Kreg and more participate in the Systainer system.  See the entire line up at Systainer USA.

Systainers come in a variety of colors, furthermore so do the lid handles and catches.  These parts enable thousands of color combinations so you can design your work space and organization to be the way you want to work.  You can order fully configured systainers from Systainer USA or you can order the parts and pieces, and swap them yourself.  To swap the handle of the systainer this tool comes in handy.  We recommend printing two.

Printing 

We use these prints in our own warehouse for making configured systainers.  To achieve the best results, follow our recommended printing parameters:

• Material: PETG
• Layer Height: 0.16mm (recommendation)
• Orientation: On the Bottom
• Support: None 
• Wall Loops: 4
• Bottom Shell Layers: 6
• Infill: 40% (Gyroid)

Usage

On the Systainer³ lift the handle.  Fit the SYS-Wedge so the incline is pointing towards the handle.  You can use a single SYS-Wedge and alternate the removal of each side of the handle or use two to be a little faster.  With the SYS-Wedge in place, press firmly down on the handle and you will hear a loud pop indicating the handle has dislodged from its mount.  

To reinstall a handle, be sure to have the proper orientation, lay the handle in place.  Then use your fist or rubber mallet to knock the handle back into its mount.
