Our FTC team (Radical Raiders, 16626) are good friends with the creators of the original design, but we needed to change it to work with our batteries.  The resulting design:

  • Holds Rev battery chargers (and similar) vertically to save space
  • Can be configured to hold Rev Slim batteries, Matrix/Modern Robotics batteries, goBILDA nested batteries (adapter to come soon to fit them better), or a mix of batteries
  • Is expandable for as many chargers as you want/need
  • Provides airflow around the batteries for cooling since they heat up when charged
  • Can be printed in team colors for that little extra style
  • Has optional caps to cover the dovetails on the sides for a more finished appearance

These designs can be printed without supports.  The “short” caps fit with the brick battery holder and the “long” caps fit with the slim battery holder.

Files are available in both stl and step formats.  The step files allow you to customize the design for your team by removing our team numbers/logos and adding your own.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Our friends at Team 10179, the Tech Turtles created the original for the Rev Slim battery.  We use the Matrix “brick” batteries and are shifting to the goBILDA nested batteries, neither of which work with the original design.  This design breaks apart the charger from the battery holder and creates new battery holders for the brick style batteries.
