After rescrewing the rod on the SRP brake for the thousandth time, I finally stripped the thread with some excessive force. Here's a replacement I quickly modelled up.
Before you're worried, all the braking force will be handled by the rod you see in pic. 2.
Lines: 0.6mm*0.15mm (0.4mm nozzle)
Infill: 18% cubic?
Screw the original rod into the hexagon to form a full thread. Use a pipe wrench gripped close to the hinge, or a 3.8mm spanner apparently… Don't play with the thread afterwards, it will just get worn loose again.
With the thread being formed by the rod itself, and the washer being integrated, I think it stays put better than the original XD.
(update: PLA seemed to hold up for the couple months I've used V1. Made a new one that gives more preload)
