My metal diabolo sticks are over 30 years old but still going strong.

They came with plastic grommets whose holes eventually widened out irregularly and I never found a supply of replacement grommets. Finally with a 3D printer I can make my own and keep the old sticks going, although I probably ought to treat myself to carbon or fibreglass ones or even metal with metal grommets! I think sticks are supposed to be shorter these days too, mine are the old style 19" ones, possibly Renegade as that's the brand of my best diabolos.

Anyway, if you have this old style of stick and want a revamp, this is the grommet for you. The outer diameter of the tubing is 12mm if that's any help.

I used TPU for resilience, a high Shore is preferable for this so Eryone Clear 95A (my only TPU anyway!) seemed ideal, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layers, ALL WALLS so set it to 7 or more, or 100% infill, or there will be a weak joint between the main body and the wider end.

It might be possible to use other materials but you'd have to sand the fins as they're designed oversize for TPU to flex as it's pushed in, and hard materials might either wear the strings or be cut into by the strings.

Happy diaboloing, or whatever the verb is :o)
