I am currently building out my enclosure and really liked @tippmam_68690 XT60 (H) Style Quickconnector, but since I also wanted to have the option to work with my (powered) printer on my workbench I needed a way to quickly remove the printer and the PSU from the enclosure cabinet.

So I threw together a male to female receptacle that is permanently installed in the enclosure into which the printer and PSU can be plugged in once I'm done at the workbench.

Parts:

  • 2x Plugs: one for the Printer, one for the PSU (follow @tippmam_68690 detailed instructions)
    • Male Plug: MaleConnectorHolder + Straight or angled cover housing and cap
    • Female Plug: FemaleConnectorHoler+ StraightCoverHousingforFemaleHolder + StraightCoverCap

  • Hardware for the Receptacle:
    • 2x M3x55 screws
    • 2x M3 Nuts
    • 8x XT60 (H)
    • Some Wire
    • Heatshrink & Soldering Equipment

  • Printed parts for the Receptacle:
    • 1x Male Connector Holder (from original model by @tippmam_68690)
    • 1x Female Connector Holder (from original model by @tippmam_68690)
    • 1x Faceplate_FemaleConnectorHolder
    • 1x StraightCoverHousing_Shortened
    • 2x SnapOnSpacer_Half

Build Instructions:

After finishing the plugs for the printer and PSU cut the wires used in the receptacle to ~4cm. Once you have soldered all the connectors of the receptacle - keep track of orientation of the plugs and polarity of the power panic!! - the assembly of the receptacle can begin:

Insert one side of soldered XT60 connectors into their respective holder, now thread the remaining connectors through the Faceplate_FemaleConnectorHolder and StraightCoverHousing_Shortened whilst making sure they are on in the correct order and orientation(Faceplate goes with female holder with the “pins” facing the holder to eliminate any play and the shortened housing goes with the male holder with the recesses facing the holder). After that you can snap on the spacers from each side (a bit of force is required) and secure the stack with the M3x55 Bolts and nuts.

I uploaded the faceplate without any holes mounting holes; you can add those as desired ;)

Print Instructions:

Printed in Prusament PETG at 100,5 scale (also @tippmam_68690 parts) to have a bit more tolerances since my second batch of XT60 (H) connectors were a really tight fit but your mileage my vary.

I am aware that I misinterpreted the meaning of Male and Female concering the XT60 (H) (see the attached pictures) but this also works :D

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Shortened the StraightCoverHousing to reduce footprint of the receptacle whilst still retaining its functionality to hold XT60H plugs in place.

Added a modified version of the StraightCoverHousing that can be used wit the female connector holder.

Created a Faceplate for mounting in the Enclosure and a Spacer that snaps onto the soldered connectors to finish out the assembly
