This is a remix of an excellent model to use M3 nuts and bolts instead of M2 heatset inserts. You will need three M3x10mm bolt. I had one brand of bolts that fit, but another didn't, so I don't guarantee that all M3 bolt heads will fit.

I only use 3 bolts to secure the keyboard because the 4th position is too tight on my board, and the J key switch was not seated properly. Note that I don't use the switchplate; maybe if you use the switchplate the bolts would get in the way, I don't know.

I uploaded both the STEP and Fusion files (kinda parametric). I only used FreeCAD to export the original model file to STEP.

Note: the picture shows 5 holes for nuts in the bottom of the case. This was my first (and current) test print, hence the change in colour partway through. I updated the source files because those holes either didn't go through the PCB or the bolt head didn't fit.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

The following changes were made:

  • Closed the mesh properly (the original STL was throwing errors in PrusaSlicer),
  • Closed the two supports for the shield as I don't use that,
  • Added 3 M3 nut slots where previous supports were,
  • Other supports closed (unused).
