I wanted to run the most recent version of Klipper on my X-Plus 3, but the touchscreen is serial and not supported by mainline Klipper. Following the guide at https://github.com/leadustin/QIDI-up2date-english get you through the process, but the mounting solution wasn't quite complete enough for my uses. This bracket will mount the Elecrow 5" HDI touchscreen (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FDYXPT7) and a Raspberry Pi (I used a 2B+, other models should™ fit) in the factory screen position, using the factory mounting posts. The bracket maintains clearance between the screen and the Pi.

To install this, you will need to fully remove the front panel of the printer you need to mostly remove the side panels (the included hex wrench from Qidi is not up to the task, but my iFixIt driver worked great) and then the front panel to have enough room to install the assembled screen/pi module.

Mine is printed in Qidi black PETG-Tough, 0.2mm layers, useing the default support settings in Orca Slicer. Removing the supports in the mounting screw holes is done best with an exacto, to break the support away from the walls, then should fall right out.

I mounted the Pi using M2x4mm screws and the screen with M3x6mm screws. The hole are threaded, but will be quite tight. I recommend installing all 4 screws for each board at the same time, and not to tighten them until all are in. Install the screen first, then the Pi, and the Pi mounting screws can pull hard enough to start to deform the mount. Use the screws the held in the factory screen with the bracket. Not to tight or they will strip!

The model is upside down in the included files due to how I built it in Fusion.
