I was having issues with the adhesive on the back of my LED strips not holding to the LED Strip Carrier once my chamber warmed up. I was designing a clip that'll hold it into place when I decided to follow the design of the original and make it so it can be any length easily and act both as a clip and as a diffuser depending on the user needs. If you just need them as clips resize them shorter along X. You can space them between the LEDs if your strip has SMD LEDs like the original post. I ended up experimenting with it as a diffuser since I had clear ABS.

I attempted printing both laying down and standing up to see how it would react with the light. With a textured bed this diffuses the light way more, the left was printed flat:

The only concern with printing standing up is the wobble as it gets taller.

I'd recommend keeping it under 100mm as I didn't see any issues before there. They also cut very easily and cleanly on layer lines so you can print as many as you need at 100mm and cut them to size. If you have a smooth bed this likely won't be as big of an issue.
