If you've ever struggled with PTFE tubes stubbornly retaining their coiled shape, this simple solution will help you straighten them out.
How It Works
- Print Two Grippers
- You can print with or without the included hook-bridge piece, depending on your hanging needs.
- Insert the PTFE Tube
- Feed your tube through the hole in the center of each gripper.
- Secure the tube in place by attaching a PTFE connector to each end.
- Hang One End
- Attach one gripper to a nail, hook, or rafter. If you need to hook onto a nail, use the bridge piece to help secure it.
- Add Weight
- On the other end, hang a moderate weight (e.g., steel clamps) to pull the tube straight.
- Let It Rest
- Over a few days, the tension from the weight will gradually straighten your PTFE tube.
When you’re done, you’ll have perfectly straight tubes—ready to store more neatly or use in your 3D printer without the hassle of stubborn coils!
