Split into Parts then click on objects, part 1 is the main body, all other parts are the ribbons and wings. 
Select all the ribbons and wings then click on others (Fuzzy Skin), Select all walls, change Fuzzy skin point distance to 0.5mm and Fuzzy skin thickness to 1mm. 
You can experiment with these parameters if you like.
