A variation on my Benchy Dockyard - just for fun.
Each slip holds 10 Benchys - so, you can size this to suit. The Dockyard Tower measures approximately 8” in diameter when loaded with Benchys.
You will need the base and one slip to start. Print a ring connector and an additional slip to add the capacity for 10 more Benchys. Make it as tall as you'd like. The top ring incorporates a handle should you want to close it off and be able to easily transport it.
The Benchys are inserted by tilting them upwards and slipping the back of the boat (stern) into their slot. They “hook” in with their little fishing rod holder. The Benchys will hang close to each other, so adding more to your Dockyard may require you to remove some to slip new ones in.
Tolerances are reasonable, but much will depend on your printer setup. The parts should somewhat snap together. However, it would be good to use a little bit of glue to keep the entire assembly together.
Supports should not be necessary for the bridging on the slips if your setup is tuned well.
Printed with Overture Black PLA.
