This is a 5x3.5" HDD cage for the Cooler Master N400 cage. The N400 only has 2 5.25" slots, but it does have some space above the top slot. A 120mm fan screws to the front of the cage, ensuring ample airflow.
I threw this together on a tight schedule a few years ago. I'd love to revisit it again at some point, but it lives in a backup server far from home
If you know CAD, I would highly suggest retooling or making your own version of this. When installing, I ran into issues loading the drives with the motherboard installed in the case. The cage is currently set up to load them from the inside. I would suggest modifying it such that the drives are loaded from outside the case
Unfortunately, a small lip of sheet metal means this model won't natively work backwards. Here are two possible solutions:
If you're installing this in an N400, you'll need to bend back the small sheet metal tabs that are there to hold up the top optical drive upon installation. Easily done with a pair of pliers
I used PETG, given that drives get warm. The caddy parts also need a small amount of give to lock into the cage. YMMV with other materials, comment if you have feedback
Use standard 3.5" HDD screws (#6-32) to attach a caddy part to each side of each HDD. Same screws for mounting the TopCage and BottomCage parts into the case, but include an added spacer washer so the screws don't stick into the case
Both STL/3MF and STEP are provided for convenience
1x Bottom Cage
1x Top Cage
10x Caddy
8x Spacer
