Amulumundi Pots (formerly Terramundi Pot)

edit. It felt wrong calling something made of plastic "terra" so it has been renamed for the latin word for starch or "amulum"

This is a PLA version of the clay Etruscan Terramundi Pot or money pot. You can find the original clay pots at https://www.terramundi.co.uk/pages/about-us

Great little piggy bank that you break open once it is full of coin and spend it on something frivolous or luxurious.

If you exercise a bit of caution when you break it open the pot can have a second life as a planter or desktop organizer. Reduce Reuse Recycle right.

Added a layered version. Prints very nicely. Looks really sharp with 15% infill and transparent filamant.

Printed at 215C. Ran the bed at 60C until layer 30 and then kept it around 22C. Four base layers, three top, and 2 perimeter.

How I Designed This

One more shameless plug for OnShape. I imported a picture of a clay pot. Plotted half the silhouette. Ran a spline through the plot, modified it for my own silhouette, offset it (after a fashion), and spun it. Cut the curve off the bottom and a slot in the top, scaled it up to 195mm height and done.

The STL file is one piece but you can see the internal structure and the 45 degree angle limit of my printer (or my printing skills) in the split view below that lets you print it without supports.
