Water heater 8" duct outlet adapter

Ducting outlet adapter for Rheem water heater. OEM part number is SP17829. 

Designed and test fit on Rheem water heater model XE50T10H45U0. 

• 22-1/4" diameter water heater
• Assembled print has a 8" duct outlet with 25 mm flange for attaching ducting
• Print is 2 mm thick

The ducting adapter will need to be printed in 4 parts + 2 of the alignment bars. STLs should load in the correct orientation for printing. Supports are required. 

Assembly instructions (or at least how i did it): 

I found Bob Smith 103 Insta-Cure Super Thin and a precision extender nozzles (links for reference, not affiliate link) very useful as it flowed into the seams without having to remove the tape keeping everything aligned. 

1. File or sand the overlapping flanges of each print to ensure you have good surface contact. May not be required depending on your printer. 
2. Slide the alignment bar into place and use tape to keep the bar and surface of the prints aligned. Do this for each pair so you have two half sections. 
3. Use the front of the print (where you slide on the ducting) as the reference face against a flat surface. Align the two halves and use tape to keep everything together. 
4. Spot glue the seams so the tape can be removed without anything moving. 
5. Remove tape and glue along the 4 seams of the ducting adapter. 
6. Remove the alignment bars, add glue to the bar (do not use 103 insta-cure as it dries too quickly), and reattach.
