The popular Fisher Price Little People toys from 1986 included some plastic mail letters, but since these are so small, chances are you've lost them by now.

I've recreated them, trying to match the original design as much as possible. Improvements can be made if someone can tell me the name of the original font.

The original letters and their colors were;

  1. Bank, black, with the stamp outlined
  2. Market, green
  3. Fire house, red.
  4. Ice cream shop, yellow
  5. Post office, blue
  6. Barber, brown
  7. Pet shop, orange

But you're of course free to choose whatever color you like.

I know some sets have different house numbers for certain shops, so I you need a different variation; let me know.

Print instructions

The idea is that the first 2mm of the model is printed in a white or other light color, and then at the color change you choose an accent color, which then prints the text and stamp icon. The 3mf file contains all separate letters, which should be printed one at a time.

The skirt is enabled for the layers up to the text on the layers, this to ensure good nozzle pressure for a clean print.

If you have an MMU you can probably configure the file differently, and also print them all at once.

The prints in the pictures were printed using a 0.25mm nozzle. Using a bigger nozzle probably doesn't work with the text on top, but YMMV.

In terms of material; I used PLA, which for now seems fine, but since a 3D-print is porous, bacteria can build up in them, so that's something to keep in mind. Adding a sealant is recommended.
