A simple mount to directly replace the original USB-port of the CMStorm Quickfire Rapid-i with a USB-C one.

The two parts and the USB-Breakout-Board are simply glued together with superglue, I additionally secured the cables with some hot glue.

Parts used:

  • Simple 4-pin USB-C breakout (the one I used on Aliexpress)
  • 5-pin PH 2mm connector (on AliExpress, the 200mm version)

The fifth pin on the connector is used for the cable-shielding on the original setup. For me, everything works fine without it, so I removed the fifth cable from the PH-connector.

The pinout of the original cable follows the standard USB color-code:

  • red is positive
  • black is ground
  • green is data +
  • white is data -

Just wire the replacement accordingly. I rearranged the cables in my pictures, please be careful!

For printing, I strongly recommend a small nozzle (e.g. 0.2mm).
