If you often hold your books open with one hand and find it difficult to position your hand just right to keep the pages open, this little gizmo can help! The sides are wide enough to hold pages open, and the edges that go around the thumb have been rounded to keep it from creating painful pressure, especially with a larger book. This was designed with reading while reclining on your back or side, or reading a book that is very stiff and wants to stay closed, in mind.
For scaling the model: the Z-axis height is meant to equal the diameter of the thumb hole. The original diameter is 25mm, but I have a small thumb so scaled it down until the Z-axis (and thus the thumb hole) was 20mm.
When slicing, I recommend laying the model flat on the non-rounded side for best printing. (That's why I didn't round both sides of the model!)
I printed this in ABS (it works fine even if you get some warping) but I'm sure it would be fine in PLA or other rigid materials.
Unfortunately, this model doesn't work as well with ebooks or audiobooks - if those are closing when you don't want them to, I recommend reaching out to your local tech support.
Hope you enjoy!
