Internal Pipe Sander for Sandpaper Strips

I needed to clean the inside of a part for my MGB restoration so instead of purchasing the tool, I of course designed it and printed one out. It's pretty simple, but works well. Uses two strips of sandpaper cut to either 25mm or 50mm. Also needs two M3 threaded inserts and two M3x8 screws. I've also included a parametric Fusion file in case you need a longer shaft, or want to increase the width of the sandpaper you are using. Those are the only two parameters to change.

Printing:

I printed with the Voron settings. 4 walls, 5 top and bottom layers, 45% infill.

Increase or decrease at your discretion.

NO supports required.

Assembly:

Insert two M3 threaded inserts in the main sanding body.

Then slide the sandpaper of your choice into the slots making sure that the grit side of both pieces will face the same direction when spinning.

Use the sandpaper hold down and two M3x8 screws to hold the paper in place.

Use:

This tool will click into an impact gun, but I recommend just using a drill. Make sure the direction of spin is correct to spin the grit side of the sand paper into the insides of the pipe. Then pinch the sand paper down a bit to allow it to fit into the pipe and spin away!

See it in use on my Instagram!
