For a small home-based craft room. The main grommet body is embedded in the table and finished with silicone sealant (excuse the very dirty silicone job, I got excited and unleashed dust before it was finished drying!). An o-ring is incorporated to allow the “normal lid” to provide a pretty air-tight seal.
The lid is flush with the surface when not in use and therefore has the ‘key’ in order to remove it for use. The key has a recess for a magnet (6mm diameter x3mm)
There is additionally a ‘hose attachment’ which is a print-in-place component that can be connected to a small hose, I used a dishwasher hose as a cheap, flexible, easy-to-store option. I again used silicone sealer. The outer knurled element rotates around central portion to make fixing to the dust collection system easier.
This was designed to use 40mmOD plumbing components as well as my other dust collection design: https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/118012-corner-desk-dust-sweepings-collector
