Apple TV Foldable Under Shelf Mount

What?

This is a mount for an Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) that prints flat for ease of printing, and folds into the correct shape during assembly. When mounted to the bottom of a shelf, desk, or TV stand it keeps things clean and out of the way.

Included are two flavors of the same model:

• apple_tv_4k_3rd_gen_foldable_under_shelf_mount
  • This version simply folds into place, clamping onto the Apple TV.
• apple_tv_4k_3rd_gen_foldable_under_shelf_mount_with_pads
  • This version has extra geometry on the sides of the mount to accept 3mm thick felt pads to protect the device, and make installation and removal just a bit easier.

Materials Needed

• 4x 12mm M4 coarse threaded screws (or honestly any coarse M3 or M4 screws that won't shoot through whatever you're screwing them into will work)
• 2x 3mm soft felt pads
  • Only necessary if you're printing the apple_tv_4k_3rd_gen_foldable_under_shelf_mount_with_pads model.
  • You don't explicitly need felt pads, anything that's soft and self-adhesive should work too!
• Drill with an appropriately sized drill bit for drilling pilot holes for your screws
• Fine tipped marker

Assembly

1. Remove the shelf that you're wanting to mount this to, and flip it over.
2. If you printed apple_tv_4k_3rd_gen_foldable_under_shelf_mount_with_pads:
   • Cut your felt pads to size (if necessary), and apply them on the faces next to the middle. Make sure to stick them on slightly below center so that everything still has room to fold up.
3. Place your Apple TV so that the bottom of it is sitting on top of the text.
4. Fold the sides inward, so that they cradle the Apple TV, and apply enough pressure to it to stop it from slipping in and out.
5. While still holding everything together, put it on the shelf and position it until it looks good.
6. Continue holding the mount in the same position, and slide the Apple TV out of the mount, and use the marker to mark the centers of the screw holes.
7. Drill the holes out, but don't go through the material.
8. Attach the mount to the shelf with the screws, then slide your Apple TV back into place!
