• Size: 4-vexel
• For more information about this module, visit: https://www.baptistetavernier.com/kura-curiosa/specimen-017
This Specimen is a larger, more complex build spanning four Vexels and divided into 24 parts. Please refer to the PDF manual for detailed assembly instructions.
As with other elements in the Kura Curiosa collection, this model is designed to be assembled using M3 x 8mm screws and M3 square nuts. If you prefer to use glue (or gloop), you are free to do so—but keep in mind that this is a tight build, leaving little room for misalignment.
• No supports are needed when printing in PLA.
• The largest part don't exceed 18x18x18 cm, making this build compatible with small printers.
• Specimen 016 was originally a separate project called ViSiON, which is still available here: https://www.printables.com/model/850602-vision-01
If you have already built the original ViSiON and wish to integrate it into Kura Curiosa, you do not need to reprint everything. Simply print the 4-Vexel Legacy files provided here—your original build will align perfectly with the Vexel holes, allowing for seamless attachment.
Kura Curiosa is an ever-expanding collection of modular artwork, drawing inspiration from the idea of a futuristic cabinet of curiosities. The project features both free-to-download 3D-printable pieces and exclusive works.
The collection is organized in categories:
• Vexels (frames)
• Specimens (main content)
• Sentries (AI sentinels)
• Cores (control units)
🛠 PRINTING TIPS
— You can 3D-print curiosa in any material or color (you can also experiment with different top fill patterns), though my typical choice includes white or gray Specimens within black Vexels.
— Assembling: All Kura Curiosa modules use M3 x 8mm screws & M3 square nuts (5.5 x 5.5 x 2.6mm)
— Best to use a 0.4mm nozzle. If you decide to use 0.6 or 0.8, make sure to test the tolerance between Vexels before printing tons of them.
— Rubber Mallet : your best friend when two Vexels don’t want to connect to each-other.
— This module DOES print on PRUSA MINI
