Modern cuckoo clock - mechanic sound - Cuconi by Toni

Cuckoo Cuconi – by Toni 😉 clock (version 0.95) is my take on a timeless classic – featuring a modern, designed case, pendulum, hands, dial, and more. 🕰✨

The internal mechanics, including the cuckoo bird, was affordably purchased for just 15 €, while everything visible on the outside was fully designed by me. It took several months and multiple prototypes to perfectly adapt my design to the mechanism. Initially, I planned to build the bird mechanics myself, but due to time constraints, I opted for a pre-made solution. ⏳🔧

The project is in its final stage, and the clock is already hanging in two apartments. Every hour from 6 AM to 9 PM, the bird emerges and calls out the number of the hour. The soft chirping of bird with the cuckoo's call is very pleasant. 🕊🔊 Everyone who has seen and heard the clock in real life so far has loved it and would like to have one themselves. 😍💬

Unfortunately, my 3D printer (250 x 250) was too small, so I had to split some components into two parts. The main house is now available as single part House_XL.stl/.3mf for big printers.

For those who want to build this clock, a detailed assembly guide are now finished - see below 📏🖨 You can find the mechanics on a platform (big A………) with many sellers - see picture.

Assembling instruction v0.95:
Step 1. Print all necessary parts. I printed out several extra of the small parts.

Step 2. Take the two house parts and attach them using the six clips. Note that the clips are not symmetrical and have a ridge at the top. Glue is recommended, but be careful not to use too much. This happened to me, and you can slightly see it from the front.

Step 3. Take the two roof parts and glue them together on the top side.

Step 4. Adjust the angle of the roof on the complete house. Then, glue the roof onto the house. The rear edges should be of equal length.

Step 5. Once the glue has dried – my glue took 10-15 minutes – you can continue with the clock face. I also used glue for the four large lines, eight small lines, and finally the house ring.

          In the two pictures, you can see the excess glue on the house… don’t do the same ;-)

Step 6. Now you can prepare the mechanism you purchased. Secure the clockwork with the nut and two washers. Remove the electronics from the side.

Step 7. Install the electronics in the printed case in the same way as before.

Step 8. Wait until all glue has dried, then you can install the mechanism into the complete printed house.

Step 9. Attach the printed hour hand and then the minute hand to the clockwork.

Kuckucksuhr Cuconi – von Toni 😉 (Version 0.95) ist meine Interpretation eines zeitlosen Klassikers – mit einem modernen, selbst entworfenen Gehäuse, Pendel, Zeigern, Ziffernblatt und mehr. 🕰✨

Die innere Mechanik, einschließlich des Kuckucks, wurde für nur 15 € preiswert gekauft, während alles Sichtbare außen vollständig von mir entworfen wurde. Es hat mehrere Monate und zahlreiche Prototypen gebraucht, um mein Design perfekt an die Mechanik anzupassen. Ursprünglich wollte ich die Vogel-Mechanik selbst bauen, aber aus Zeitgründen habe ich mich für eine fertige Lösung entschieden. ⏳🔧

Das Projekt ist in der Endphase und die Uhr hängt bereits in zwei Wohnungen. Jede Stunde von 6 Uhr bis 21 Uhr erscheint der Vogel und ruft die Anzahl der Stunden. Das sanfte Zwitschern des Vogels mit dem Kuckucksruf ist sehr angenehm. 🕊🔊 Jeder, der die Uhr bisher in echt gesehen und gehört hat, war begeistert und würde gerne selbst eine haben. 😍💬

Leider war mein 3D-Drucker zu klein (250 x 250), sodass ich einige Bauteile in zwei Segmente aufteilen musste. Das Haupthaus ist jetzt als Einzelteil House_XL.stl/.3mf für große Drucker verfügbar.
