🏢 Mainframe z16 Modular Case – Free Base Model & Paid Extensions

This project is a remix of IBM's publicly available z16 model, adapted for hobbyists,
tech enthusiasts, and makers who want a functional and stylish modular case.

I hope you enjoy building and customizing your Mainframe z16 Modular Case! 🚀

🔹 Why is the model split into two?

The Mainframe z16 Modular Case (Free) includes the base shell but lacks functional parts like the lid, backplate, and power button support.

This was necessary to respect IBM’s ownership of the original design while allowing for practical modifications.

This approach ensures that the original IBM design remains freely accessible
while my custom enhancements are available for those who need a fully functional case.

To make the case fully usable, I designed the Raspberry Pi 5 Extension for the Mainframe z16 Modular Case (Paid) including:

✅ A sliding lid with an airflow mesh for heat dissipation
✅ A backplate with an airflow mesh, port cutouts, and sliding mechanism
✅ A stand that raises the case for improved airflow from the bottom
✅ A power button

These additions were designed from scratch and are available as a separate purchase.
