Due to the Orbiter extruder upgrade to version 2.5, original holder is no longer suitable for mounting. I rised position of whole extruder and added M3 nut recesses for easier mounting. This holder is for dual-z mods, especially CK3D one, with motor facing forward.
Parts
- Orbiter extruder v2.5
- 63 mm PTFE tube with 120° chamfers on both sides
- 1× 8 mm, 2× 16 mm, 2× 20 mm, all M3 flathead screws
- 2× M3 nuts
Installation
- Remove original PTFE tube and brass connector from hotend.
- Insert two M3 nuts into their recesses in holder.
- Mount extruder holder together with fan and PINDA sensor to hotend with 8 mm and 20 mm screws.
- Insert new 63 mm PTFE tube into hotend.
- Put Orbiter extruder on top of holder. There should be small gap (up to 1 mm) between holder and extruder. If not, you have to move hotend little bit by loosening wormscrews. Tube in hotend must be pressed for good seal similarly to original PTFE tube. This is done by tightening the screws used for extruder mounting (16 mm).
Firmware changes
Proceed as described on Orbiter pages. Don't forget to change fast load (50 mm) and unload (135 mm) lengths in firmware or by gcode and reverse extruder direction either in firmware or in experimental menu on MINI.
